Abuso sexual infantil

Abuso Sexual Infantil

Martin Luther King's speech: I have a dream.

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.
I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today!
I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of "interposition" and "nullification" -- one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.
I have a dream today!
I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; "and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together."2
This is our hope, and this is the faith that I go back to the South with.
With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.
And this will be the day -- this will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with new meaning:
My country 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the Pilgrim's pride,    From every mountainside, let freedom ring!
And if America is to be a great nation, this must become true.
And so let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire.
Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York.
Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania.
Let freedom ring from the snow-capped Rockies of Colorado.
Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California.
But not only that:
Let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia.
Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee.
Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi.
From every mountainside, let freedom ring.
And when this happens, and when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:
Free at last! Free at last!
Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!3

Graduation speech

Good morning dear principal, teachers, parents, classmates, ladies and gentlemen.

Our day has finally arrived. The day where we say goodbye and leave twelve years of our lives behind; the day where we stop sharing moments and seeing each other everyday. The day where school ends and life starts.

Even though many of you know that I have been waiting for this day very anxiously, there are certain things that I am going to miss, such as: Franklin's hugs in the morning, spanish classes, teacher Juan's passion for teaching, me arriving late and not taking the first class, Carretero's creativity, Ivan's ability to make us laugh, teacher Karla's classes and many more things.

It is not easy to leave twelve years of our lives behind. So many laughs, tears, trips, memories that will stay in our hearts forever. But above all, I am going to miss these 37 hearts, that taught me something on its unique ways each one, because even if we did not talk much, I can assure you today, dear classmates, that each one of you has taught me a different lesson in life that I am taking with me today.

I feel very happy today because I know that thanks to the amazing education that we have received in this school and at our homes, we are today leaders ready to face a world hate and needed of our love, compassion, honesty, responsibility and commitment. I have faith on this cruise that today ships, because after sharing all these years with you guys, I can assure that we are leaving this school comitted to make the world a better place and to leave purposeful footprints on it.

I am extremely thankful with my God for allowing me to share these years with you guys and for the people who also made this possible, beggining with our parents. Thank you, parents, for your dedication and unconditional love for us; for waking up at six amto take us to school, for interrumpting your jobs to pick us up, for taking us to each other's houses when we had group works, for coming to the parents' meeting every year; but above all, for giving us your support in all o our activities, and for saying yes to our crazy ideas every time.

Also, I want to thank our teachers for being so patient with us, for not giving up when it came to learning and understanding, for transmitting us your passion and love, for every call of attention, because today we are seeing its results even though they were annoying at the time, for loving us like your children. We will always remember you and have you in our hearts.

To conclude this speech, I want to thank you guys for all the memories and the love that you gave me throughout these years. I know that all of you have the capacity to success in this life that begins today, and I believe that you will accomplish each one of your goals. I desire that you never leave God's hand, and above all, never forget where you came from. I love you with all my heart. This is just the beginning.

Thank you.

Speeches

Types of speeches

Demonstrative speeches: Its purpose is to educate the audience on something, it can include visual aids that describe in practical terms how to do something

Entertaining speech: the main purpose of it is to entertain the crowd, they are informal and usually very short, they provide enjoyment and pleasure to the audience.

Informative speech: They present statistics and facts about topics such as social and economic changes in the community but they do not use visual aids in the speech.

Persuasive speech: are there to persuade the audience that an opinion expressed by the speaker is the right one.

Oratorial speech: Oratorical speeches are delivered in the style used by an orator. Its name is a little redundant because “orator” and “oratorical” both relate to the giving of speeches. These types of speeches are usually given at a special celebration such as an inauguration or ribbon-cutting ceremony. They can be long and formal, such as speeches used at a graduation, funeral, or inauguration, or short and informal, such as speeches delivered as toasts at special events.

Special Occasion: Speeches that don’t fall into any other category are usually classified as special occasion speeches and these can include speaker introduction speeches, designed to be short but interesting and to introduce an upcoming speaker; tribute speeches, which are designed to pay tribute to someone either dead or alive.

Motivational Speech: A motivational speech is a unique type of speech and has the goal of self-improvement for the audience members. With a motivational speech, you can turn a negative situation into a positive one. These types of speeches are especially popular in business meetings with executives, to complete a certain task, or to encourage employees to sell more of your product or service. Motivational speeches can be found in elementary school to high school in order to motivate the students to do better on a test or in a sporting event. The speeches are great for inspiring people, lifting a person’s self-esteem, or even motivating an entire crowd of people.

Debate Speech: Debates are somewhat different than persuasive speeches because you aren’t necessarily there to get the other side to switch to your side; instead you are there, in essence, to justify why you believe a certain thing.

Forensic Speech: The term “forensic speech” merely refers to the practice and study of debate and public speaking. This is according to the American Forensic Association and this activity is practiced by millions of high school and college students each and every year. The reason why it is called forensics is that this practice is patterned after the competitions at public forums during the period of ancient Greece.

Taquito Norteño Restaurant
Santo Domingo
Dominican Republic 76452

Dear Principal Manager:

I am writing this because of a situation I had at your restaurant last month. I was having lunch with my family, I have to admit that the food was delicious, but when we were about to order the bill, a cat appeared inside the restaurant! It is an indoor restaurant, so the presence of an animal like a cat made us question many things... And not only that but the fact that my mother and I are terrified for cats so it was a disgusting surprise for us.

We doubt that we visit the restaurant again, but in case that we do so, we really hope that this problem is solved because we really like the restaurant but some things need to be taken into account... We believe that it was no bad intentions in here since they saved the cat immediately but we really hope that this does not happen again.

Sincerely,
María Paula Hernández.

She was one of the smartest students at her class and was always really active in all the voluntary activities that as an institution we often do. She was a leader from our youth group, was always available to do whatever was needed and above all, everyone knew that they could count on her.

Having Jessica at your university would be an absolute privilege, just as it was for us having her at our school for so long. We look forward to see Jessica making her dream a reality!

Dear Ms. Kayla,

How would you like to see more space in the parking lot of your auto dealership? Well, the solution to that is enclosed with this letter. The smart card which when attached to the services that you provide will ensure increased customer loyalty. But before we tell you about the benefits that you will gain from subscribing to these cards, we would like to thank you for showing an interest in our product.

The SmartCarz card that we are offering is an opportunity for you to increase your sales of cars, services, and accessories. But all of that will be secondary compared to the goodwill, that you will surely enjoy in the market. Add to that, the surety of buzz that your clients will create for you, once they have enjoyed the fruits of being loyal customers with you.

So, what does the SmartCarz card do? SmartCarz card is a customer loyalty and gift card venture, that will increase the sales of your dealership and in the process, generate revenue for you. As you can see on the sample card attached with this letter, we will customize the front of the card to showcase your dealership and create an unparalleled visual identity for you. On the back of the card is a magnetic strip that records details about the client every time he/she swipes it for merchandise or services at your dealership. You can hand out these cards to customers whose business you want to attract and increase. The entire venture is managed using a simple software, that can be enabled on personal computers, if you decide to enter an agreement without company. DFW Airport
Dallas, Texas 75441-4545

Dear Director:

I am writing you concerning a round-trip flight from
Austin, Texas, to Detroit, Michigan, I made on December 10,
19XX. Travel demands have made me a consistent patron of
American for the past six years. In that time, service on
your airlines has always been good to excellent. But an
interruption in service on the flight mentioned above has
prompted my request for a 50 percent reduction in airfare
on my next flight.

Here is what happened on December 10. While changing planes
during the return trip at DFW Airport, I was informed that
our flight would be delayed. After two hours' delay, we
boarded the plane we had just left in order to meet our
Chicago connection in Dallas. After take-off from DFW, our
pilot casually informed us that we should be impressed by
the fact that the Dallas Cowboys football team had just
left our seats. This was the only explanation of our
inconvenience.

I believe that this re-routing was done purely for
promotional gain and was in no way mechanically or
technically necessary. As a loyal patron of American
Airlines, at least until this point, I have every
confidence that the compensation I request above will be
provided, considering the high standard of service and
consideration your company has demonstrated toward its
customers in the past.

Sincerely,
Scott Woodrow.

Dear Mrs.Hughes:

I have just received your March 24 letter about the damaged
shipment you received through Green Tree Freight and regret
the inconvenience that it has caused you.

From your account of the problem, I am quite sure that your
request for the $240 adjustment on the damage to the 2
crates of Valjean Cristal stemware will be granted. A
certain amount of breakage of this sort does unavoidably
occur in cross-country shipping; I am sorry that it was
your company that had to be the one to suffer the delay.

I must remind you to keep the damaged crates in the same
condition in which you received them until one of our
representatives can inspect them. That inspection should
take place within 2 weeks.

If all is in order, as it sounds to be in your letter, you
can expect the full reimbursement within 2 weeks after our
representative's inspection. I hope this unfortunate
accident will keep you from having merchandise shipped by
Green Tree Freight in the future.

Letters of recomendation:
Dr. Wiihye Kim
 School Director
 English International School
 48 Daecheon-ro 67beon-gil, Haeundae-gu Busan, South Korea
Dear Dr. Kim,
It’s my great pleasure to provide this letter of recommendation for Jerry as he pursues an English as a Foreign Language teaching position with English International School in South Korea. As a professor of English literature at XYZ University, I taught Jerry in two classes and served as his thesis advisor senior year. Jerry impressed me with his intellectual curiosity, passion for global cultures, and adventurous spirit. Given his background in English and experience living abroad, I’m confident that he would make an excellent addition to your school.
Jerry’s passionate about connecting with people across cultures, whether that means exploring new ideas through world literature or volunteering as an ESL tutor at local elementary schools. I recall one insightful paper Jerry wrote for which he interviewed international students about their perspectives on select classics. His passion for cross-cultural exchange shone through his words. As an English teacher in South Korea, Jerry will foster a similar global outlook among his students.
Jerry has my wholehearted and unequivocal support in his search for an English teaching position in South Korea. He’s hard-working, thoughtful, charismatic, and open-minded, and he has a clear commitment to cross-cultural communication. I have no doubt that Jerry will make an outstanding English teacher, and I share his excitement over this next venture. Please don’t hesitate to contact me for any more information. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Dr. Willa Smith
Professor of Comparative Literature, XYZ University.

Mr. Henry Jackson 368 Main Street Sterrett, GA 39248
Dear Henry Jackson,
My name is Jerry Claxton and I am a matriculating student of Brayburn College. I am one of the students that you sponsor in this school. My sole reason for writing to you is to thank you for your continued support in helping me achieve my goals by sponsoring my college degree.
You have been of great help to me and my family by supporting my academic studies and my stay here. This has been a substantial relief to my parents, who are not to capable of paying for my college fees. This opportunity has brought life to my career, and through your continued support, I am able to achieve my dreams. Through this sponsorship I have been able to perform well in school and become a source of encouragement to my peers, especially my own siblings.
Also, because of my stay in the school dormitory, I am able to focus more on my studies, unlike most students who commute to and from school. I would especially like to thank you for making available all the materials that I required, like books, to help me do better. Through such materials, my grades have improved tremendously. My teachers are impressed and I am confident that I will be a top student in the institution at the end of this academic year.
I have also been putting added effort in my extracurricular activities. Though the coach of the basketball team put me on the second team, with much practice I can still be in the first league. Above all else, you have been a source of encouragement to me and my whole family. Due to you, my life has taken on a different dimension.
Yours faithfully,
Jerry Claxton

Apostolado Debate Tournament

Apostolado Debate Tournament: Day one.

María Paula Hernández, Student Reporter
Monday, December 17th, 2018.-

SANTO DOMINGO- This 17th and 18th of December of the year 2018, Colegio del Apostolado is having one of the most waited events of the year which is called: Apostolado Debate Tournament. This event consists on formal debates of 45 minutes each one, performed by the students of 9th grade against 10th grade, and students from 11th grade against 12th grade with the following resolutions to debate:  "The USA should open its border to Central American caravans for humanitarian reasons" and "It is benefitial to the United Kingdom to leave the European Union". Resolutions that were discussed by approximately 24 couples.

As audience, we were able to see the following debates: María Latour and Ingrid Tezanos with Mia Tejeda and Ninakatella Martínez, who were discussing the first resolution. After that, we saw Cinthia Cruz and Patricia Valdespino debating against Angélica Germán and Camila Concepción, who were debating the second resolution mentioned above, just like the third and last debate that we saw between Angélica Germán and Camila Concepción against Diana Paulino and Chantal Michel.

During these debates, several things were appreciated, both positive and negative, for example: Some students were so nervous that sometimes, even though they knew what they were saying, they got lost and their ideas lost clarity. But at the same time, it was really pleasing to see how each student prepared for months to have great results and how this was seen and appreciated. It was also really pleasing to see how there was a harmony between teams that in the end, helped each student individually to be confident and to trust themselves.

In conclusion, these debates have accomplished most of the expectations that the rest of the school had. Apparently, this was a good start since only six couples were deleted. We hope that the second day accomplishes the expectations as well.

Oh, love!

Love is beautiful, love is blind
When you catch it don´t let it fly
It is patient, it is kind
It is pure and doesn´t make you cry

But love is not beautiful every time
There are days where it doesn´t shine
It gets blurry, acid like a lime
But it´s your job to make it bright

It´s not always laughs, it´s not always nice
But you can be sure it changes your life
It can turn your heart into a paradise
Or it can sharpen it, just like a knife.

Poem

Couplets
The sun shines bright
          Like stars at night
Tercets
Oh my God, Oh my Lord
I can’t believe this is yours
Take it now or take it slow, otherwise you’ll have a loss.

Quatrains
My family and I, we are really nice
We always reunite to eat pie
             While the adults drink wine
             Children stay up all night

Donuts sale at Colegio del Apostolado

María Paula Hernández, Student Reporter
Friday, October 5th, 2018.-

SANTO DOMINGO- Last Friday, September 28th, the students of 12th grade had a donuts sale at Colegio del Apostolado to start collecting money for their promotion expenses like their graduation, their opening, etc.

This sale was made at Colegio del Apostolado's little park in the two breaks that the school has scheduled according to the ages of students. They were glazed donuts and each one had a cost of fifty pesos. By the time of the second break they were sold out.

This will not be the only activity that Class of 2019 will use to collect money. As one of the members of the class said: "This is just the first one, we will try to sell these at least twice a month!". This class has many expectations that they hope they can accomplish.

Resultado de imagen para the woods

Looking for him

And there she was, looking for him again, lost in the woods. She was tired, but her desire to find him was bigger than her tiredness. She had been looking for him since she was five, when he disappeared. He had been working as a police officer for 15 years when he married her mom, they were so happy and always had planned to have a baby girl and to name her Faith, and so they did. He was sent to the rescue of a father and a son that were simply having a walk into the woods, when they heard a strange noise, looked around and realized that they were surrounded by wolves. He saved them, but never went back home.
After years and years of looking for him, they assumed he was dead and Faith’s mom decided to give up and accept the fact that she may be a widow and would have to raise her child herself. Faith was a curious, funny, quiet, mature and really smart girl who always did questions like “why does my friend have a father and I don’t?” “where is my dad, mommy?” which made her mom’s widow life a little harder, because she was so little that her mom could not find a way to explain what really happened, to her.

When Faith turned 15 years her mom decided to tell her what really happened with her dad. Her reaction was way more quiet than what her mother thought it would be, but later on she developed a deep and intense curiosity to truly know if her father was dead or not. She went every day of the week to the woods for 2 years. She was decided that she would find him. Her mom was not really okay with this, because she feared that it would happen the same thing to Faith. Faith would stay there all noon and night screaming “dad, are you here? I know you are!” but always went back home with no clues about her dad.

The woods were really lonely, but one day, she saw a man. He was blind, toothless, looking like if he did not know what a shower was. Faith was scared, but nevertheless she persisted. She approached the man and asked him what his name was and what had happened to him, she felt a strange connection with this man. The man cried and told her that he only wanted to go back home. He kept screaming “I want to go home!!!” Faith felt really sorry for him and decided to take him home, because after all, what damage can that poor man do to her?
They went home, and the moment her mom opened the door, she fainted. Faith did not know how to drive, but she learned that day. She, her mom and the man were on their way to the hospital. When she told the doctor what had happened to her mom, he immediately took care of the case. The man was still crying. Something told Faith that he was not well, even though he said he was fine. She asked the doctor if they could check him and see what was wrong with him. Suddenly, he was hospitalized.

And there she was, waiting for her mom to wake up and staying with a stranger, to see if he was okay. Faith’s mom woke up the day after screaming “it’s him, she found him! My husband is here!” Faith thought she was delirious and tried to calm her, but her mom persisted.
After a few hours, when she was completely calmed, she talked to Faith and told her that the man she took home was her dad. Faith could not believe it! Her research was not in vain! She had found her dad! When the doctor finished checking him what had happened to him, and effectively, he was Faith’s father.
