Graduation speech

Good morning dear principal, teachers, parents, classmates, ladies and gentlemen.

Our day has finally arrived. The day where we say goodbye and leave twelve years of our lives behind; the day where we stop sharing moments and seeing each other everyday. The day where school ends and life starts.

Even though many of you know that I have been waiting for this day very anxiously, there are certain things that I am going to miss, such as: Franklin's hugs in the morning, spanish classes, teacher Juan's passion for teaching, me arriving late and not taking the first class, Carretero's creativity, Ivan's ability to make us laugh, teacher Karla's classes and many more things.

It is not easy to leave twelve years of our lives behind. So many laughs, tears, trips, memories that will stay in our hearts forever. But above all, I am going to miss these 37 hearts, that taught me something on its unique ways each one, because even if we did not talk much, I can assure you today, dear classmates, that each one of you has taught me a different lesson in life that I am taking with me today.

I feel very happy today because I know that thanks to the amazing education that we have received in this school and at our homes, we are today leaders ready to face a world hate and needed of our love, compassion, honesty, responsibility and commitment. I have faith on this cruise that today ships, because after sharing all these years with you guys, I can assure that we are leaving this school comitted to make the world a better place and to leave purposeful footprints on it.

I am extremely thankful with my God for allowing me to share these years with you guys and for the people who also made this possible, beggining with our parents. Thank you, parents, for your dedication and unconditional love for us; for waking up at six amto take us to school, for interrumpting your jobs to pick us up, for taking us to each other's houses when we had group works, for coming to the parents' meeting every year; but above all, for giving us your support in all o our activities, and for saying yes to our crazy ideas every time.

Also, I want to thank our teachers for being so patient with us, for not giving up when it came to learning and understanding, for transmitting us your passion and love, for every call of attention, because today we are seeing its results even though they were annoying at the time, for loving us like your children. We will always remember you and have you in our hearts.

To conclude this speech, I want to thank you guys for all the memories and the love that you gave me throughout these years. I know that all of you have the capacity to success in this life that begins today, and I believe that you will accomplish each one of your goals. I desire that you never leave God's hand, and above all, never forget where you came from. I love you with all my heart. This is just the beginning.

Thank you.

Speeches

Types of speeches

Demonstrative speeches: Its purpose is to educate the audience on something, it can include visual aids that describe in practical terms how to do something

Entertaining speech: the main purpose of it is to entertain the crowd, they are informal and usually very short, they provide enjoyment and pleasure to the audience.

Informative speech: They present statistics and facts about topics such as social and economic changes in the community but they do not use visual aids in the speech.

Persuasive speech: are there to persuade the audience that an opinion expressed by the speaker is the right one.

Oratorial speech: Oratorical speeches are delivered in the style used by an orator. Its name is a little redundant because “orator” and “oratorical” both relate to the giving of speeches. These types of speeches are usually given at a special celebration such as an inauguration or ribbon-cutting ceremony. They can be long and formal, such as speeches used at a graduation, funeral, or inauguration, or short and informal, such as speeches delivered as toasts at special events.

Special Occasion: Speeches that don’t fall into any other category are usually classified as special occasion speeches and these can include speaker introduction speeches, designed to be short but interesting and to introduce an upcoming speaker; tribute speeches, which are designed to pay tribute to someone either dead or alive.

Motivational Speech: A motivational speech is a unique type of speech and has the goal of self-improvement for the audience members. With a motivational speech, you can turn a negative situation into a positive one. These types of speeches are especially popular in business meetings with executives, to complete a certain task, or to encourage employees to sell more of your product or service. Motivational speeches can be found in elementary school to high school in order to motivate the students to do better on a test or in a sporting event. The speeches are great for inspiring people, lifting a person’s self-esteem, or even motivating an entire crowd of people.

Debate Speech: Debates are somewhat different than persuasive speeches because you aren’t necessarily there to get the other side to switch to your side; instead you are there, in essence, to justify why you believe a certain thing.

Forensic Speech: The term “forensic speech” merely refers to the practice and study of debate and public speaking. This is according to the American Forensic Association and this activity is practiced by millions of high school and college students each and every year. The reason why it is called forensics is that this practice is patterned after the competitions at public forums during the period of ancient Greece.
